The Power of Choice

To start the New Year of 2012 is to know the way home. The “Way” has been spoken of often but misunderstood a lot. So much has been shared concerning how to get “there” which is wonderful but there is need for an understanding of what “there” is. A little bit of information will carry you far, therefore know that the way home is provided as a metaphor to describe the internal compass that always points inward.

You have been told to go within to find answers and that salvation lies within. This is useful advice but what does it really mean?

To look within means to trust in your own internal guidance system. Some call this system the Holy Spirit, others call it the Higher Self, many call it intuition and still others label it feelings. All of these words point to the same thing that cannot ever be truly named but can be known.

The way to deepen knowing is through experience. These experiences require trust as guidance unfolds and actions result from following that guidance.

Evidence that you truly do know the way home and what that expression means will be gathered through experiences that are fulfilling because you followed your internal guidance when making your choices.

You hold within everything needed for complete and total fulfillment; to live a happy, healthy, joyful life. You hold within a guidance system that will illuminate the path to freedom. You are encouraged each time a choice is made to honor this path bringing more and more satisfying experiences. The only thing you truly need to understand is the power of your choice.

Choice is the way home. Making choices that serve the self require attention and listening to the guidance system within. Fear not that a mistake can be made. A so-called wrong choice is merely one made without listening clearly to guidance. All that need be done to “correct” the “wrong choice” is to clear the channel of static through spiritual practices that you find effective, and then choose again.

There really is no wrong choice. All choices lead to greater understanding of the self and the internal knowing that is ever-present. A better description of choices made from a cloudy channel would be to call them dissatisfying or perhaps even a “halfway there” choice. What your heart desires is an “all the way there” choice.

The year of 2012 has been called the year of self-responsibility through choice. Use your practices to keep your channel of guidance clear of static and then every choice will be satisfying, and will therefore deepen your knowing of self as one with all. Truth lies within this path as the Way.

Choose well and if not simply choose again. Make your dominant intention for this year be to choose well and then it will be so. Through this intention your internal compass will be recognized, utilized, and will create the experience of home right here and right now.
